We are thrilled to have Dr. Dana
Charles McCoy join us again on Parenting Understood. In this
episode, Dr. McCoy speaks with us about her recent research on the
impacts of COVID on child development (emotional, social, and
learning). In particular, she summarizes her and colleagues’
research focused on forecasting the long term consequences of
closing early childhood centers on children’s development with
special attention to children in low and middle income
countries.
Dr.
McCoy is an Associate Professor at the Harvard Graduate School of
Education (HGSE). Her work focuses on understanding the ways that
poverty-related risk factors in children's home, school, and
neighborhood environments affect the their cognitive and
socioemotional development in early childhood. Her research looks
at both domestic and international contexts.
